The Westlakes Amateur Radio Club participates in a number of contests annually. The increased interest in contesting means that the Radio Shack is often buzzing with activity, with operators and scribes busily making contacts and recording the details of each QSO; Callsigns, names, signal reports, locations and other contest-specific data.
Contest participants will operate in shifts; using the club's transceivers or entering data into the logbook software running on the computers at stations around the room. Lots of chatter and lots of coffee keep up the energy levels and at meal times, participants can often enjoy pizza or home made meals, donated by one of the members.
